Finally signed up to put my two cents in. First of all to anyone who feels it their business, having nothing better to do than speculate and run off at the mouth, MY tires were perfectly FINE! If you just feel that its your busines, though I feel I don't have to justify, I was not speeding, as a matter of fact I was doing just under the speed limit because I am fully aware of the pedestrians that travel along the roads in the area where there is no sidewalk! I wasn't on my cell phone either.....And if you must know I was wearing my seatbelt. I bet thats shocking!! Probably didn't think I was smart enough?! That and the grace of God is the reason I am still alive today!! If you wanna blab your mouth so bad say a prayer for me, if not get some business! On another note: Thank you to all those who had some concern for the driver of that red car (ME!!) Know that God is better than GOOD, and he is in the business of blessing!!! I'm a living witness!!

Two people have said "racing slicks", talking about the red car, but you must be looking at another picture. I definitely see tread on the passenger front tire, though it's hard to even see that. Looks like a standard all-season radial to me. The driver's side tire is damaged and looks like it has debris on it too. Can't tell anything about that one. Are we looking at the same picture? I went through this intersection this morning, on my bicycle (with studded tires!). There was a bit of ice there. This looks like more than just the usual sliding fender-bender though. Glad to hear that everyone's OK.

Why would you put racing slicks in the front?

I meant no disrespect to anyone involved in the crash....but come on folks, obviously someone WAS at fault or there wouldn't have been a wreck.

Have to comment to all of the ones listed -- first off, I know the individual who was involved in this accident. The individual is a very responsible, well liked, and a safe driver. To quickly come to the conclusion that the individual was speeding, talking on the phone, or any other action that might be a distraction is absolutely undeserved. How about the roads are just plain dangerous -- was not there, don't know what happened, but my thoughts and prayers are with all involved. And, how about a little more compassion.

If the Ann Arbor (City) Fire Department was there, then it's likely in Ann Arbor's jurisdiction, not Ann Arbor Township, though I know the location of that crash is right near the border, and I see Ann Arbor Township fire trucks drive through there all the time (I live right by where this happened). And for what it's worth, I have seen AAPD patrol cars driving through there, running radar, or sitting right at the intersection of Dhu Varren and Omlesaad (usually at night), watching for people running/rolling through the stop sign (the other place they'll get you is the valley that the railroad tracks run through just west of there--you'll pick up speed going down the hill, and on the way up, they'll be waving at you with their radar gun and a kind gesture to pull over). Not the voice of experience or anything... Anyway, judging from the damage to the truck, it looks like it was hit broadside in the passenger's door. That red car took a lot of damage from the crash though--I hope everyone's okay.

With the way people drive (race) along Dhu Varren/Nixon/Pontiac Trail, one of these days, some speeding fool is going to run over a kid or senior citizen instead of the poor, small animals that regularly get flattened. It would really help to have the AAPD sit out there to catch a few of the NASCAR wannabes. Maybe that would slow all of us down if we were on the lookout for the cops....yes, I'll even admit to zipping around there too sometimes. There are just so many kids, pets and grannies wandering around in these neighborhoods, no one should think it is safe to speed around there or run through the stop signs inside the Foxfire subdivision.

Yikes what make of car is that red one? Just want to make sure I don't buy one of those next time I'm in the market. Hope the driver is OK.

Check out them racing slicks on the red car! Bet they hook up awesome in the snow. Michigan needs annual vehicle safety checks like most of the east coast. New York and Eastern Canada come to mind.
