A downed power line caused a shed fire near the intersection of Island Lake and Dexter-Pickney roads in Dexter Township this afternoon, officials said.

Firefighters responded to a call of a "transformer explosion" about 4:38 p.m., Dexter Area Fire Department Lt. Tim Burke.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, and Burke estimated damages to be about $1,000.
