Natural gas leak reported at Rawsonville, I-94 Service Drive

By John Counts

Motorists have been asked to avoid Rawsonville Road and the Interstate 94 South Service Drive because of a natural gas leak.

The Van Buren Township Department of Public Safety issued an alert around 5 p.m. Friday telling people to temporarily avoid the area due to an accident causing a natural gas leak.

As of 5:30 p.m., police and fire personnel were working to shut down the gas leak as quickly as they could, according to the alert.

I'm assuming that by "accident" you mean a vehicular accident, not another kind.
