Multiple accidents slow Monday morning traffic on M-14

By John Counts

Authorities were dealing with two or three accidents along westbound M-14 from Ford Road to Earhart Road on Monday morning around 9 a.m., Washtenaw County dispatch confirmed.

A dispatcher said there were "a couple" accidents causing slow downs. One near Earhart involved four to five vehicles. County deputies and wreckers were on the scene, the dispatcher said. There were no injuries reported at the accident, according to Joyce Williams from Huron Valley Ambulance.

HVA was also at the scene of a second accident at Ford Road, Williams said. Two patients were being treated, but the injuries did not appear to be serious.

The accidents slowed traffic, but there were no plans to close the road.

The worst accident occurred at the end of the construction zone, so traffic was delayed 20-30 minutes if you had to drive through the entire zone. When I drove past that accident at around 10:00 this morning, they were just clearing away the last vehicle.

It's just soooo difficult to drive side by side through a construction zone.

Oh my gosh, where are the salt trucks? Don't they realize we had a freeze warning last night. I mean gosh that has to be it, right? That's usually who some people blame when it gets cold. (By the way in case some don't realize, I am being very sarcastic.)

Yes indeed... Heaven forbid people should drive undistracted and mind the road!
