Milan, Plymouth-Canton and Hartland administrators chosen as 3 finalists for Saline High School principal
Saline Area Schools has selected three finalists in its search for a high school principal.
Finalists are: Julie Helber, current assistant superintendent for Milan Area Schools; Alice Lashbrook, current assistant principal at Hartland High School; and Tyrone Weeks, current assistant principal at Plymouth High School.
A committee of parents, teachers, administrators and one student interviewed eight individuals for nearly 10 hours Wednesday before deciding on these three. The finalists will take part in a community roundtable at 6 p.m. May 2 at the high school.
The forums will be 40 minutes in length and will allow the public, students and parents, high school teachers and administrators the opportunity to observe each candidate in an interview setting where the candidates will be asked pre-determined questions, said Curt Ellis, human resources director for Saline Area Schools.
Event attendees can submit questions on note cards and those questions will be presented to the candidates as time permits.
The finalists were chosen from an initial pool of 61 applicants who applied from as far away as California. There was one internal candidate.

I'm confused. Is there another Tyrone Weeks? I thought he is the current principal at A2Tech? Did he really apply for the Saline position? Hmm, another administrator looking to leave AAPS?

Yes, Hartland High School IS in Hartland, not Howell. Why would it be in another town?

I'm confused. " Alice Lashbrook, current assistant principal at Hartland High School in Howell;". I thought Hartland High School was in Hartland. What does Howell have to do with it?

Julie was my son's teacher about 13 years ago. I used to take her class out to the courtyard/garden to work with me. She was such a kind, patient, and fun teacher. I don't know the other two candidates, but I am pulling for her! Good luck Julie! : )
