Michigan House Republicans plan to release state redistricting plans Friday

By Cindy Heflin

State House Republicans plan to release proposed new political maps for legislative and congressional districts Friday, The Detroit News reported.

The redistricting process is required every 10 years after the release of U.S. Census data. Michigan, the only state in the nation to lose population, is also losing one congressional district.

Legislative districts will also be redrawn to reflect population changes, although the number will stay the same.

I can just picture Rick Snyder and Brian Calley sitting in a dark room somewhere with all of their politician buddies and a number of high ranking CEOs in the state plotting how to best defraud the voters of Michigan by gerrymandering/guaranteeing a Republican victory for years to come. Makes me sick.
