Member of Occupy Ann Arbor group talks about the movement
Sincere Nobleman of the Occupy Ann Arbor encampment in Liberty Plaza talks about the movement and setting realistic goals.
According to www.occupyannarbor.org, one of the movement’s websites, the first full-time occupiers arrived in Liberty Plaza on Oct. 12. There’s been no indication from the group as to how long Liberty Plaza will stay occupied.
About a handful of people are actually occupying the park overnight, with crowds growing during the daytime hours and during regular Thursday meetings.

I'm all for the OccupyXXX movement, but couldn't annarbor.com have found a better spokesperson? I'm pretty sure this guy is the newest addition to the alley on Liberty Street, and I'm not sure he had anything insightful to say...

Even though my deleted comment was true, I understand that it had to be removed. But yes, anyone who is familiar with the alley activity over the last 5 months, knows that this guy was a poor choice.

That's what happens when your movement has no real point.

I have often said this Country is not a democratic society but a Corporate society. Corporatism is running our country. I support the ideas that we need to get back to the principles from our founding fathers. The corporate greed money thief's have raped the middle class. One example is Borders. The other example is all the millionaires that are in political positions including Snyder. Our Governor is running the Office of Governor for the good of corporations not the people. Changes did need to happen to support a diminished budget. But most of Snyder's policy's are geared to save corporations money under the guise that it will create jobs. Change needs to happen.

The economy collapsed because the constitutional mandates "all power is inherent in the People" was hijacked by The Supreme Count 5 in Citizens United v Federal Elections Commission -WITHOUT ANYONE FATHOMING, LET ALONE ASKING FOR IT. FIve people concocted this out of thin air. That is your economy crash. The party-first state south of Canada. Clarence Thomas by law was not allowed to cast the deciding vote. He was able to because he lied about his wife's income on their joint income tax and The john Roberts did not remain faithful to the law by not having proceedings for his either ad hoc or permanent removal. The protesters are on point. Those you who have hiss a fit are the ones who jacked the nation and world economies. Restore the guv of laws, not boys t. The market and public confidence will return. Would you invest in a recalcitrant regime? Hope not. Besides James, what state are you actually dipping into Michigan's from. Enough said.

"One example is Borders" So...stupid marketing decisions by a corporation means they are "raping the middle class". "But most of Snyder's policy's are geared to save corporations money under the guise that it will create jobs. Change needs to happen." So how do you propose we bring jobs back? We need money coming into the government somehow and increasing taxes on the wealthy and corporations will only push jobs and corporations outside the US. What we need to do is give corporations tax incentives to keep jobs here in the US. Many people here also seem to have a short-term memory (or just don't pay attention). Under the last Michigan administration, corporations were not favored and were taxed on their gross profits rather than their net. Many businesses (especially restaurants because they have low margins) either failed or fled the state. This contributed to our failing economy.

Where can someone with blue hair get a job? I cant think of one place either, at least not somewhere that pays more then min wage. Keep making bad choices and you'll spend the rest of your life in a tent.

Yes mhirzel, blue hair is a big point. Guess what, when I'm at a job interview I wear a black suit, comb my hair and act like a professional. I don't paint my hair, spike a nose ring and drop the f' bomb and then complain that I didn't get the job because of corporate greed.

Blue hair? This is what you're concerned about?????? Guess that's why it was so easy for the facists to take over what was once our Republic. I support anyone willing to sacrifice comfort, time, energy and the approbation of those who sit at home, grumbling on their ....um....couches, to speak for the rest of us (Reps and Dems/left and right), and hair color doesn't bother me a bit.
