Man robbed at gunpoint inside Mary's Fabulous Chicken & Fish in Ann Arbor

By Lee Higgins

A 70-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint inside Mary's Fabulous Chicken & Fish on Packard Road Saturday, Ann Arbor police said.

Two men walked inside about 9:05 p.m., and one pulled a handgun on the victim and demanded money, police said. The victim, who is affiliated with the business, was sitting at a table, police said.

The men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. It's unclear whether the restaurant was open.

Both men are described as black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 150 pounds, police said.

The one who pulled the gun was wearing a black ski mask, while the other man concealed his face with his hand, police said.

Anyone with information can call the department's tip line at (734) 794-6939.

Twice, now, in articles, people have blamed bad parenting for the actions...wait for it - full grown adults. Now, if it's tantruming toddlers you may have an argument. But after a certain point - people take responsibilities for their own actions. If my teen, at 17, trashes a police car, I will be embarrassed for her. I will not intercede for her, and yes, I will feel ashamed of her. But these are HER ACTIONS. Not mine. I taught her better. Did the teaching take? Only she can decide. She is not my clone. She is an individual, who makes her own decisions - good and bad.

My husband and I stop in at Mary's when we come into Ann Arbor, the place has been there forever it seems. They have a steak and cheese hoagie that's really good. The fish and chicken are good too. It's pretty sad that a neighborhood take out/diner that's been around for so long has become a victim of a crime like that.

I can see that but a younger man I would think is more likely to put up resistance and get shot. Just my opinion though.

both Lokal. However, if they would stick to their own age grouping, they could elimate each other in a more timely fashion....

"Wow...how brave of the robbers to take on a 70 year old man who was sitting down! Smart punks/thugs would never go for a fair fight!" So are you just upset by the parenting that led to the armed robbery or the fact they didn't pull out a gun and threaten to kill someone more their age group with a better chance of fighting back?

Wow...how brave of the robbers to take on a 70 year old man who was sitting down! Smart punks/thugs would never go for a fair fight! I'm am so disgusted with the lack of parenting that has perpetrated a whole generation of human beings that are rapidly becoming the scum of the earth. But, we are in a world of entitlement...the robbers feel entitled to someone else's money and belongings...pathetic excuse of humanity.
