Man killed near Manchester in logging accident
A logging company worker was killed while working Tuesday in a wooded area near Manchester, Fire Chief Bill Scully said.
Authorities arrived at the scene in the 13000 block of Waters Road around 1:30 p.m. and found a man was trapped after a tree had fallen on him. He was later pronounced dead on the scene, Scully said.
Two other employees were working with him. They described the incident as a tragic accident, he said. Scully referred further questions to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department, which is investigating the incident.
Spokesman Derrick Jackson could not immediately provide further information.

"The described the incident as a tragic accident" In the good old days, a journalist would interview a witness in order to describe to readers what happened, and an editor would proofread articles before publication and correct typos.

I agree with you "Stupid Hick". A lot of these online news articles are too general and vague and really leaves the reader hanging.

Did away with it when they closed the paper? I didn't renew my subscription long before that because of the quality was lacking even then.

They did away with all of that expensive and time consuming reporting nonsense when they eliminated the A2 news.
