Man killed in crash on I-94 near Chelsea is identified

A man killed Wednesday night in a crash on I-94 at the Pierce Road entrance ramp near Chelsea has been identified as 31-year-old Darius Morris of Ypsilanti.
Morris was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck on I-94 westbound when he lost control on some ice at 9:45 p.m., troopers say.
The truck went off the right side of the road and overturned several times. Morris and a female passenger were ejected, troopers said. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female passenger and a male passenger were taken by ambulance to University of Michigan Hospital.
Troopers say speed is believed to be a factor and it does not appear any of the three were wearing seat belts.
The accident remains under investigation.

Very sad. My condolences to the family and friends of Darius. Best wishes for a speedy recovered of the unnamed passengers.

This is very sad, 31 and is a daddy. Hopefully the other 2 people will recover fully. (Ice and speed don't mix) If that was the case. I believe in wearing seatbelts, the belt goes on me and any other person in my car, before I turn the key to start. This is one of my better habits. Another habit, I won't ride with anyone that has to talk on their cell or text.

I love you Darius...Too young to die! May you rest in peace. I will pray for your family and your children. So sad that you are gone. May Rosemont and the the other passenger come home safely!!
