Lane closures on U.S. 23, M-14 will slow traffic through 6 a.m. Monday
Motorists planning to drive on U.S. 23 on the east side of Ann Arbor this weekend might plan for a little extra travel time. Lane closures are likely to slow traffic at times on both sides of the freeway between Washtenaw Avenue and M-14.
One lane of the highway will be closed on both the north- and southbound-sides of the freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. The same lane closures have been in place for the past two weekends.
MDOT also has intermittent nightly lane closures in place along M-14 between U.S. 23 and the Wayne County line. One lane is closed in each direction from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily for resurfacing. Those lane closures started in March and will continue through July.

It wasn't too bad last Sunday morning, but I thought I saw three eastbound lanes jammed with vehicles last Sunday afternoon as I used the Pontiac Trail bridge over it; one of those lanes must have been the ramp from southbound US-23 to eastbound M-14. Just don't want to hear of another traffic fatality in that area while its under construction. I think it's been a month or less since one driver headed from southbound US-23 to eastbound M-14 and crashed.
