Juveniles arrested in Scio Township break-ins after resident videotapes a crime in progress

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies identified several juveniles accused of breaking into Scio Township apartments last week after a resident videotaped two of them attempting to enter a residence, officials said.

Four break-ins occurred in the Woodchase apartment complex between July 19-21.

On July 21, a resident videotaped two of them attempting to enter an apartment and called police, officials said. The responding deputy discovered another apartment had been burglarized when he arrived.

The deputy watched the video, spoke with management and witnesses, and identified possible suspects, sheriff's officials said. Three juveniles were arrested and confessed to three break-ins, reports said.

The suspects were linked to the fourth burglary after discovering stolen items during searches of the suspects' residences, police said.

No further details were available this afternoon.

Ronn Oneal - There was no mention of wealth or race in this article. If you're trying to determine the seriousness of the charges based on race (and who knows what races these kids are), what do you have to compare with? You'll need a wide variety of cases to compare; taking one case of a juvenile of a certain race versus a case of a juvenile of another race won't prove anything since there are many variables to consider. And no, in my opinion I don't believe this is organized. If it is, then I bet we'll find out about it soon because I can't imagine 3 kids facing serious charges without rolling over on the "boss".

You think maybe they are a organized operation and just maybe only caught the lower level guy's of the outfit.

Please dont block me because I want to know if race determine the seriousness of charges against diffrent cultures. watch this case closely if not blocked and most importantly how close its media exposed. Wealthy or Poverty also get double standard treatment.
