Incumbents and a former council member snag three Saline City Council seats
Current Saline City Council members David Rhoads and Brian Marl won their seats again in Tuesday's election, and will serve the city for another two years.
Dean Girbach, a former council member and mayor pro tem, also won a spot on the council in the four-way race for three open seats.
Former Mayor Pat Little, a long-time Saline politician who had served on the City Council most recently since 2003, in addition to terms in the '80s and '90s, chose not to run.
It wasn’t exactly a change of the guard.
But it came close to a small upset, with the only newcomer, Jim Roth, losing by 87 votes.
Marl captured 1,951 votes Tuesday; Rhoads 1,846; Girbach 1,686, and Roth 1,599.
The council members’ terms begin the first Monday in January.
