Humane Society investigates house dog treatment at Lambda Chi Alpha

By Cindy Heflin

An injury suffered by the house dog at the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at the University of Michigan has prompted an investigation by the Humane Society of Huron Valley, The Michigan Daily reported.

Fraternity members believe the dog, named Yikes, was hit by a car, the article said. The chapter's house manager, junior engineering major Gabe Johnson, has been suspended by the national organization because the house is not supposed to have pets, The Daily said.

The fraternity has been raising money for surgery Yikes is scheduled to have Wednesday at Michigan State University in East Lansing.

this is too bad. don't label it bad cause it's a "frat house" a feel good, taking in, taking care of a hit dog and a national fraterinty gets this treatment. if it didn't make the paper, think this would've been investigated by their national? the dog, probably, officially belongs to one of the brothers.

The point, I believe, is that an injured dog went untreated for a considerable length of time before action was decided upon, and then only if paid for by "outside" donations.
