Grass fire spreads to several yards in Ypsilanti Township
Firefighters from Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township joined forces Friday afternoon to fight a grass fire in the 1100 block of Rambling Road in the township.
Ypsilanti Fire Department Captain Michelle Stanbury said the fire started at what appeared to be a brush pile outside a single-family home and then spread to several other yards.
Stanbury said Ypsilanti Township firefighters needed more trucks to battle the blaze, and that's when the Ypsilanti Fire Department got involved. The fire was soon contained.
Stanbury warned, "We're under drought conditions. Don't burn."

Its so dry, I'm worried about the fireworks. Time to water the lawn.

Who starts a fire in a brush pile when it's been 90+ degrees for several days and we haven't had practically any rain in the month of June? I think it might be someone looking for a big fine. But to be fair it may have been and accident.
