Granholm appoints two members to Eastern Michigan University board of regents
LANSING - Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has appointed two members to the Eastern Michigan University board of regents.
Granholm appointed Michael D. Hawks of Saugatuck and Erane C. Washington-Kendrick of Ypsilanti.
Friday's appointments take effect in 60 days unless the state Senate rejects them.
Granholm also made several appointments to the boards at Western Michigan University, Grand Valley State University and Michigan Technological University
John T. Cakmakci of Schoolcraft and George A. Franklin of Kalamazoo were appointed to Western Michigan's board.
Douglas W. Crim of Haslett and Matthew L. Tomasiewicz of Grand Rapids were appointed to Grand Valley State's board. Terry J. Woychowski of Oakland County's Commerce Township and Russell A. Gronevelt Jr. of Plymouth were appointed to Michigan Technological University's board.
