Geddes Road to be restricted to one lane in Superior Township Monday

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Geddes Road will be restricted to one lane at Valleyview Drive in Superior Township Monday while a new storm sewer is installed.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane under flag control operations during the day while work is occurring. Access for residents, businesses and deliveries will be maintained. However, delays are likely.

The storm sewer is being installed to service the new Woodlands at Geddes Glen Subdivision.

It is a horrible fact that they tore down all these trees to build new homes that no one is going to be able to afford; if they had this much money to build these new monstrosities, then why don't they put that money into the decapitating abandoned properties all over the county... I always enjoyed taking this drive to work because of all the nature, but that is slowly slipping away. The green ness that Ann Arbor is known for is being replaced by metropolis.

This used to be a heavily wooded piece of land with huge old trees. Toll Brothers clear cut it all to build 30-40 homes, claiming they will be in the $800k range. Really? Who will spend that much on a home that sits on a totally bare lot? Shame on Superior Twp. for approving Toll Bros eleventh hour request to cut down more trees than previously called for. Planting a bunch of saplings in a few years can't replace what they have destroyed. All of the nearby residents are sick about this. It is a shock every day I drive past this. The real estate market may be strengthening, but there is no way 40 homes costing $800k+ will sell any time soon. Greedy and irresponsible.

Is this the developer who had threatened to put in hundreds of mobile homes?

Same road, further east....the roundabout at Ridge/Geddes was open this morning when I drove through. That was a horrible detour route....glad it's done.

Most hideous destruction of a beautiful woodland area ever.

They destroyed the land, now they want to tear up the road. Who's behind this? Who's paying for it? Did they have public hearings or did they just bribe someone at the Superior Township Hall?

Toll Brothers. No public meeting for this project. The township board met and approved changes to the site plan (taking down additional trees) and also discussed the water main/road issues. It wasn't exactly snuck through, but residents weren't made aware of the plan for this property or the date of the meeting when this was discussed. There wasn't a chance for anyone to get the facts and object.

Love how they tore out loads of trees in this "development" and still have the gall to call it "The Woodlands".
