Geddes Road construction may cause some delays this weekend

Construction around the Geddes Road and US-23 interchange and the Geddes Road and Earhart Road intersection may cause some delays this weekend.

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the city of Ann Arbor will be working on the area for their intersection improvement project. The work will build a non-motorized bridge spanning US-23 south of Geddes Road. The construction will take place on Geddes Road between Earhart and Dixboro roads and northbound and southbound US-23 around the Geddes Road interchange.

The traffic control plan is as follows:

From 8-10 p.m. Friday, a single lane closure will occur on southbound US-23.
From 9-10 p.m. Friday, a single lane closure will occur on northbound US-23.
From 10 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, Geddes Road between Earhart and Dixboro roads will be closed. Traffic will be detoured using the entrance and exit system at the Geddes Road interchange.
Northbound US-23 will be required to exit at Geddes Road then immediately enter back onto the freeway using the northbound entrance ramp. Those wanting to exit the freeway will be able to make a right turn onto Geddes Road. No traffic will be allowed to enter northbound US-23 from Geddes Road.
Westbound traffic on Geddes Road heading to northbound US-23 will be detoured at the Geddes Road / Dixboro Road intersection northerly on Dixboro Road then westbound on Plymouth Road back to US-23.
Eastbound traffic on Geddes Road heading to northbound US-23 will be directed north on Earhart Road to westbound Plymouth Road back to US-23.
Southbound US-23 will be required to exit at Geddes Road then re-enter the freeway using the southbound entrance ramp. Traffic wanting to exit the freeway will be able to turn right on Geddes Road. Geddes Road traffic will not be allowed to enter southbound US-23.
Eastbound traffic on Geddes Road heading to southbound US-23 will be detoured at the Geddes Road / Earhart Road intersection west on Geddes Road to southbound Huron Parkway to eastbound Washtenaw Avenue back to US-23.
Westbound traffic on Geddes Road heading to southbound US-23 will be directed to southbound Dixboro Road to westbound Huron River Drive to southbound Hogback Road to westbound Washtenaw Avenue back to US-23.
Geddes Road traffic west of US-23 will be directed to southbound Huron Parkway to eastbound Huron River Drive to northbound Dixboro Road back to Geddes Road.
Geddes Road traffic east of US-23 will be directed to southbound Dixboro Road to westbound Huron River Drive to northbound Huron Parkway back to Geddes Road.
