Gas leak at University of Michigan Kresge Complex demolition site temporarily repaired

By Heather Lockwood

A gas leak at the University of Michigan Kresge Complex demolition site resulted in a temporary evacuation at about 5:20 p.m. Monday, said U-M police spokeswoman Diane Brown.

She said the evacuation lasted no more than an hour, a "temporary repair" is in place, and gas service has been restored.

The gas line was accidentally "snagged" by a construction worker, resulting in a leak, Brown said.

No one was injured.
