Freeze warning issued for Ann Arbor area; warming trend to follow

Another night of chilly temperatures is in store for the Ann Arbor area.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for southern lower Michigan in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday morning. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for several hours.

The weather service predicts skies will clear Saturday night and temperatures will drop to around 29 with winds between 5 and 8 mph. Clear skies will continue Sunday, and temperatures are expected to climb to around 60 degrees.

Monday will bring a chance of showers under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 60. Then, a warming trend begins with highs near 70 by Tuesday and in the mid- to high 70s by Wednesday.
