Though Michigan Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has not made his re-election plans official, media reports indicate he has begun his campaign fundraising efforts for the 2014 race.

Before appearing at the Mackinac Policy Conference Wednesday on Mackinac Island, former Florida Republican Gov. Jeb Bush reportedly attended a re-election fundraiser for Sndyer.

Bush tweeted a thank-you message to the DeVos family, who hosted the fundraiser, according to MLive.

Snyder told MLive he is laying the groundwork for his campaign but is not yet a formal candidate.

Former U.S. Congressman and state lawmaker Mark Schauer recently announced he will seek the Democratic nod for Michigan governor in 2014.

"Bush tweeted a thank-you message to the DeVos family, who hosted the fundraiser" How philanthropic of DeVos to welcome the downtrodden into his opulence. He just gives, gives gives to Snyder, almost as if he were part of the middle class.

So Snyder is starting his re-election campaign with funding by the right-wing DeVos family. No surprise there! Where can I sign up to campaign for Mark Schauer?

It has been reported that Rick Snyder doesn't even drive a car. What grown "business" man doesn't drive a car? How did the motor capitol of the world elect two governors who don't drive? Granholm didn't even have a license! Talk about out of touch with the people of Michigan.

Big money trying to buy another 4 years for their puppet who cut taxes for his backers and raised taxes on the on those that can least afford it. Hey, the rich really know what's good for us little guys and they have needed to make some tough choices for us so that we can have more lower paying jobs in Michigan. LOL

During his first campaign for governor Rick Snyder said little about what he really believed and what he intended to do. Now voters should realize that Governor Snyder does not care about the average Michigan citizen. Some of his first term "accomplishments" include: Cutting $1.7 billion dollars from business taxes and paying for it by reducing payments to school systems and municipalities; Introducing a tax on pension income for the first time; Establishing the Emergency Manager Act that gives almost unlimited power to a single individual over local communities, including the authority to replace elected officials, to cancel contracts and to establish contracts without competitive bidding, and sell a community's assets without deliberation; Signing into law restrictions on women's health services effecting the availability of services, restricting abortion and allowing withholding of contraceptives on the basis of objections of conscience; Eliminating gay rights in Universities receiving state funding; Reducing the duration of eligibility for unemployment insurance payments; and Taking no action to gain employment for nearly 400,000 unemployed Michigan citizens left over from the decline in the automobile industry earlier in the decade. Voters examining Governor Rick Snyder's record as well as that of the Republican legislature should realize that no hope lingers for their helping the poor and middle class. Hopefully, voters will respond by providing Governor Snyder and his Republican legislature with a resounding defeat in November 2014 and also send a message to the DeVos family and the Koch brothers that not every election can be bought.

And most improvement resulted from Obamas actions saving the Auto Inustry, growing the economy, reducing unemployment below where it was when he took Office, increased housing starts, soaring home values, increased Consumer confidence, etc. and it's resulting impact in Michigan. Of course Snyder will try to take credit for it. They will also say he's better than Granholm, but fail to say she had a split legislature that stymied her work while he had a single party legislature. Nor will they give her credit for the $2B reduction to the budget that she Did accomplish in the midst of a horrible auto industry crash.

For your information, Granholm cut over $2B from the state budget while in office. This was more than any other governor in the country cut. What she didn't do was cut revenues by basically repealing the state business tax, then raising taxes on retirees and the poor. Plus she never gave $400M from the K-12 educational fund to colleges and universities resulting in a huge cut in the K-12 per pupil funding last year.

I see Ricky is pointing in the direction he plans to take the state. I really can't understand why he's running for a second term, there won't be anything left after the first one.
