Flood warning issued for Ann Arbor area; 1 to 3 inches of rain possible
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for portions of southeast Michigan, including Washtenaw County, as Mother Nature prepares to dump up to 3 inches of rain on the area over the next day or two.
The weather service said heavy rain is falling along and south of Eight Mile Road and totals of up to 2 inches have been reported and has already caused flooded roads in Wayne County.
Also, widespread showers and thunderstorms will arrive this afternoon and will continue tonight into tomorrow. High rainfall rates from thunderstorms will quickly cause water to flood some roads in and around the Detroit Metro area later today and this evening, the weather service said. Also, creeks, rivers, underpasses and low-lying areas are likely to flood, the weather service said.
Besides Washtenaw, counties in the warning area include Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne.
The warning is in effect until 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The weather service had earlier issued a flood watch but soon upgraded it to a flood warning.

That's great. I was beginning to worry about all the vegetation getting too dried out and sun-scorched.
