An open trailer full of roofing supplies caught fire Thursday around 5:30 p.m. at Hill Street and East University Avenue on the University of Michigan campus, police said.

The blaze quickly was extinguished by the Ann Arbor Fire Department, said Diane Brown, spokesperson for U-M police.

There were no reported injuries.

Brown said the trailer was next to an unoccupied building that is being renovated. The roofing company is working on the building, but employees were gone for the day when the fire started.

The cause currently is unknown, Brown said.

The trailer was filled with supplies, but the extent of the damage was not immediately known.
