Power restored to DTE Energy customers in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti areas
By Cindy Heflin
Power has been restored to about 4,300 customers in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas who lost electricity when equipment malfunctioned at a substation, said DTE Energy spokesman John Austerberry.
The power went off about 12:45 p.m. while crews were doing some work at the Phoenix Substation on Dhu Varren Road, Austerberry said. The power was restored at 1:28 p.m., he said.

I was wondering what happened. Was making my lunch and power went out with no nasty weather. Thanks for the update.

We here on Broadway lost power for about half an hour. Now it's back. But as of about 1:30, several traffic signals along Plymouth Road were still out. The Traverwood branch of the Ann Arbor District Library was closed, although its lights were on.
