The outage occurred at 6:53 a.m. and power was restored by 7:50 a.m.

The school's boilers and heating plant, as well as internet and phone connectivity, were also affected by the outage. Crews were working to restore them early Thursday morning.

EMU officials believe the outage was caused by a Detroit Edison feed interruption.
