Driver injured when car strikes tree at I-94 exit ramp to US-23

A driver was injured in an early morning crash Sunday on the westbound I-94 exit ramp to US-23 in Pittsfield Township, Michigan State Police said.

The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m.

Pittsfield Township firefighters said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, pinning the driver inside. Firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" to free the driver, who was then taken to an area hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries, officials said.
