Thief swipes unlocked car in Dexter
By AnnArbor.com Staff
A car with the keys in it and the door unlocked was stolen Thursday in Dexter, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office reported.
The light green four-door 2006 Ford Focus was taken between 1:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday from the 2000 block of Bishop Circle East, an alert from the sheriff's department said.
Police have no suspects.

Something fishy going on here. Keys were left in a car. A thief happens by, looks in the car, sees the keys and decides to get in and drive it away sometime between broad daylight and nighttime. At night the keys would be harder to see. I would not be surprised to see this car show up abandoned with new damage on it. My car keys are on the same ring as my house keys. When I get out of my car, I have to take my keys to get in my house. Maybe this victim leaves the house unlocked too when they are out driving. Or they have two sets so you don't have the incredibly inconvenient task of taking your car keys with you when you get home. That can be a huge burden.

I still don't understand why anyone would steal a Ford.

Where was the driver who left this open invitation to the thief? Better yet, what was he thinking?

My comment was removed, I see! I think WCSD would have liked it.
