Dexter Village Council approves $6,000 for tree planting

By Lisa Allmendinger

This spring, 25 new trees will be planted primarily along Dexter-Ann Arbor and Baker roads in Dexter.

Officials hope the trees will be planted the week of April 25 to coincide with Arbor Day celebrations in the village.

The Dexter Village Council recently unanimously approved a contract with Ann Arbor Landscape to spend up to $6,000 for the trees. The company has planted trees for the last four years in the village.

All trees are warranted for one year and the village will pick and stake the locations.

The trees will include autumn blaze maples, elm, Magyar ginko, Japanese Zelkova and Redmond Linden.
