Ypsilanti police investigate robbery at gas station

By Lee Higgins

Ypsilanti police are investigating a robbery Friday at a gas station in the 400 block of North Prospect Street, a police news release said.

A man walked into the station's convenience store at about 8:10 p.m. and ordered a female clerk to open a cash register, the release said. He put his hand in his waistband, implying he had a gun.

The clerk put the drawer to the register on the counter, and the man took the cash out and left in a vehicle with another man, the release said.

The robber was described as black, with a light complexion, medium build, 6 feet tall and in his 30s. He was wearing a black jacket with white sleeves, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ypsilanti police at 734-483-9510.
