Woman reports friend hit her while driving her home
A 20-year-old woman reported being assaulted by a friend who gave her a ride in Ann Arbor Friday afternoon, police said Monday.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the woman reported the assault at 2:09 p.m. Monday near Packard Street and Stone School Road. The 20-year-old woman said her friend, a 40-year-old man, was driving her home when they began arguing.
During the argument, the man grabbed the woman and hit her in the face with his hand, Bush said. The woman told the man to stop the car and she got out, walking the rest of the way home, Bush said.
The woman had a small bruise on the left side of her face. No other injuries were reported.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

It is a good that she reported this. All assaults need to be reported, documented, and prosecuted. If and when this person does this again there will be a record of this offense, too. Hopefully, prosecuting this incident will help promote more peaceful behavior from this man, and keep him from doing something much worse.

"The 20-year-old woman said her friend, a 40-year-old man, was driving her home when they began arguing." Seems to me there is more going on here than what is being reported...

Of course it's not an excuse. Who said that? My statement stands; maybe you don't get what I'm saying.

What else needs to be reported? An argument, no matter how heated, is no excuse for physical violence.
