Two suspects arrested in robbery of Ypsilanti Township Value World

Two young men were arrested Sunday as suspects in the armed robbery of the Value World at 1401 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti Township, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say five employees entered the store to open for the day and were greeted by a pair of armed robbers, dressed in black.
The department says the robbers took money and fled.
The two suspects, 16- and 23-year-old Ypsilanti Township residents, were later arrested based on vehicle information provided by a witness.
Reports say the 16-year-old was transported to the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center and the 23-year-old suspect was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.

@pw48111 There is much more in Ypsilanti than the daily crime blotter. As small-time as they may be, the ypsiciti.com and the Ypsilanti Courier do a great job at showcasing the good things about the city, amidst all the crime and city hall reporting.

I agree they need to report the crimes but they could also report on other activities more frequently. It is a bit heavy on the A2 side of reporting. There are a lot of wonderful happenings in Ypsi.

I really wish there was more to the Ypsilanti section of A2 dot com than a regurgitation of the crime blotter sent out by WCSO every day. This is WEAK and shows a lack of any real commitment to reporting what Ypsilanti is all about. Get a reporter here to cover something other than crime and city hall.
