Trial date set for Ypsilanti man accused of abusing child who died

Timothy Ryan Martin, 25, is charged with first-degree child abuse. He is accused of harming LeRoy Henry Beals, 1, of Hudson.

The child died Oct. 17 after going to Toledo Children’s Hospital Oct. 15 with injuries. Martin was babysitting for the child when the injuries occurred, police said. He is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, Erin Graham.

A not-guilty plea was entered for Martin and a Feb. 21 trial date set during a hearing in Lenawee County Circuit Wednesday, the Telegram reported.
