Tractor stolen from barn in Lodi Township
Police are investigating the theft of a tractor from a Lodi Township barn that was reported Wednesday.
Deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence in the 7000 block of Weber Road for a report of a breaking and entering of a barn.
An unlocked door was used to get into the barn and a tractor was stolen, police said in a Nixle alert. Investigators believe the theft occurred at some point between March 9 and 13.
Now, police are warning residents to be on the lookout.
"If you see something suspicious or that appears to be out of order in your neighborhood, whether it appears to be emergent or not, please call 911 and report it," the Nixle alert stated. "As local residents who drive through the area daily, you have a good feel for vehicles, people and behavior that does or does not belong. Trust your instincts. We do."

I am normally on the side of law enforcement. Figuring that they know best (most of the time). But unless there are some extenuating circumstances this appears to be very irresponsible. Not providing a description. I doubt it will be very helpful to provide a description in a week or so.

It amazes me that the Sheriff knows exactly what type of tractor was stolen but there is no description to help for it be found. Not even on the Nixle alert.

So if you see a dude trolling your neighborhood on a tractor, that could be the perp. Get out your spike strips... That'll slow him down for the cops to nab him.

Kinda curious about the age of it.I just sent ( like 30 seconds ago ) a pic of a vintage seat I have on craigsist to a guy ( he has nothing to do with it he inquired about it a few days ago ).So it's just my curiosity

Umm, I just had a tractor drive by my home.......... was it a John Deere? A Case? A Kubota? A Farmall? An International? A Sears? A Ford 8N? A Caterpillar? A Lamborghini? Mahindra maybe? I dunno....

This is a big loss for the owner. I hope that it can be tracked down or at least, it was insured.
