Superior Township resident scares off intruder

By AnnArbor.com Staff

A burglar or burglars were scared off when a Superior Township homeowner yelled "who is there?" Wednesday morning, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department.

The resident, who lives in the 8000 block of Avon Court, was in an upstairs bedroom when the doorbell rang at 8:44 a.m., a media summary said.

After receiving no answer, the intruder opened an unlocked window, the summary said. The resident heard noises in the hallway, yelled, and the person or people inside the home fled, the summary said.

The homeowner never got a look at the intruder or intruders, the summary said. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home.

You didn't mention whether the resident was male or female. Glad nothing was messing, and intruder left when realizing someone was home. This story could have turned out much different. I think I might have locked myself in the bedroom, with gun in hand. Window un-locked? Not a good idea!
