Sentencing delayed in Ann Arbor youth hockey embezzlement case
The sentencing for a Chelsea woman accused of embezzling nearly $1 million from the Ann Arbor Amateur Hockey Association has been rescheduled for Aug. 24.
Kimberly Kay Knight, 45, previously pleaded guilty to felony embezzlement charges and was scheduled to be sentenced today in Washtenaw County Circuit Court by Judge Melinda Morris.
Authorities say Knight volunteered to work as the association's bookkeeper and used its money to buy jewelry, family vacations, a Cadillac Escalade and other items.
About two dozen people affiliated with the group showed up to today's hearing, which will continue on Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
