Prescription drugs, cash stolen from Ann Arbor pharmacy during burglary, police say
Updated: Ann Arbor police release security video from Wenk's Prescription Shop burglary
A thief smashed the door of Wenk’s Prescription Shop on Ann Arbor's west side after hours Monday and made off with prescription drugs and cash before officers arrived, city police said.
Lt. Renee Bush said police received a call at 8:30 p.m. Monday reporting alarms going off at the shop, located at 2355 E. Stadium Blvd. Police found the lower part of the front door smashed in when they arrived, she said.
The store was closed at the time, and no employees were in the building, Bush said.
The thief tried to open other locked drawers but only made off with cash and medicine, Bush said. Police do not release the amount of cash stolen during burglaries, she said.
Bush said the thief was a white man wearing a light-colored knit hat with a blue jacket and jeans. Police were able to get the description based on video taken by the security cameras at the store, she said.
Video images have not yet been released by police.
Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to call the Ann Arbor police tip line at 734-734-794-6939.

what's such an attractive target for thieves doing so near a residential area? Councilors, you better ban it!
