Thieves smashed windows in two vehicles in Scio Township and stole stereo equipment from one and a purse from another, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies reported.

Deputies were called to the 5500 block of Cambridge Club Circle Friday morning after receiving a report of a stolen stereo and speakers, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.

The suspect broke out a window to gain access to the vehicle at some point overnight.

On Sunday, police were called to the 80 block of Aprill Drive to investigate a report about a car that had been broken into between noon and 2 p.m. A woman said she found her car window broken when she returned to it from a local business. Her purse was snatched.

There are no suspects at this time in either case.
