One of the two Ypsilanti Township men wanted in a shooting was arrested Monday night, Pittsfield Township police stated in a release issued Wednesday morning.

Lester Palmer, 39, was located and taken into custody at 8:40 p.m. Monday by deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, according to the release. Police continue to search for his brother, 38-year-old Ricardo Palmer, who they believe to be was the shooter.

There was no further information immediately available about Lester Palmer's capture.

Investigators believe the brothers are responsible for shooting a 45-year-old man in the legs Sunday. A domestic incident preceded the shooting, which occurred in the 3500 block of Fieldcrest Lane of Pittsfield Township, according to police. The 45-year-old man had been arguing with his girlfriend.

“It started out as a domestic violence situation with the victim and a woman at the residence,” Pittsfield Public Safety Director Matt Harshberger previously told AnnArbor.com.

Three men -- including the Palmer brothers -- soon ended up at the residence. The man was shot once through the legs and the three suspects fled, according to police.

The victim and suspects were known to each other, but officials did not want to elaborate on their relationship.

Police are still trying to identify the third suspect while looking for Ricardo Palmer, who is described as being five foot eight inches tall and 215 pounds.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Pittsfield Township police non-emergency line at (734) 822-4911 or the anonymous tip line at (734) 822-4958.
