Four home invasions were reported to Ann Arbor police Monday, including two in the same apartment complex on Kellogg Street.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said two apartments in the 400 block of Kellogg Street had their doors pried open Monday night. Another Ann Arbor apartment, in the 500 block of Benjamin Street, was also reportedly broken into Monday night. A home invasion in the 1000 block of State Street was also reported, and it’s believed that incident occurred during the last two-and-a-half weeks.

Bush said an Ann Arbor man left his apartment in the 400 block of Kellogg between 10:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Monday to go shopping. When he returned, the man noticed the door to the apartment had been pried open. A laptop and a Kindle e-reader were reported stolen.

A second apartment, where two 24-year-old Ann Arbor women live, was broken into during the same time frame. The door to that apartment was also pried open, Bush said. The women were not home at the time and were notified by a phone call. Jewelry was reported stolen from the apartment, Bush said.

According to Bush, the apartment in the 500 block of Benjamin was broken into sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 11:21 p.m. Monday. She said the 24-year-old man living at the residence reported the kitchen window had been broken. Cash and the man’s passport were reported stolen.

A day after break-ins that took place when University of Michigan students were away for break were reported, Bush said five more Ann Arbor residents were victimized while they were out of town.

All five men live in a home in the 1000 block of South State Street, Bush said. The break-in took place between 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and 1:46 p.m. Monday, she said.

Bush said someone got into the home through a bedroom window and took jewelry, three TVs and a DVD player.

There was no suspect description available for any of the home invasions reported Monday.
