Michigan receiver Jerald Robinson appears in court Friday, warrant canceled
University of Michigan wide receiver Jerald Robinson appeared in the 15th District Court Friday morning and was arraigned on one misdemeanor charge of malicious destruction of property, according to court records.

The charges stem from a Feb. 4 incident. Robinson was charged with malicious destruction of property more than $200 but less than $1,000, records show. He faces up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine, if convicted.
In court documents, Robinson’s address was listed as his hometown of Canton, Ohio. The court will typically send notices to appear to the defendant’s last known address, and Robinson has been in Ann Arbor participating in football activities.
He was injured in the Wolverines’ spring game last week and is expected to contend for a starting job when the season begins.
A university spokesman said Thursday the program didn't learn of the warrant until late Wednesday, and had no further comment. A spokesman for the university’s athletic department was not immediately available Friday morning.

umgoblue47, I am trying to understand your so called logic....so if I am a Michigan fan, I am supposed to never criticize an athlete for something they have done wrong or criminal.....your reasoning re enforces the notion that athletes be treated differently than the general public.......by the way, I am a Michigan fan.....

observer... iam trying to understand your logic on your first post. he did not show up for court because he lives in ann arbor and the court document's were sent to his canton, ohio address so he was not aware of the court date that's why he missed it. i never said it excuses everything or your not supposed to critize an athelete those are your words, but at least wait to pass judgement until you have all the fact's. i can't speak for all MICHIGAN sport's but under coach HOKE a football player is NOT treated differently then the general public. if the court system find's wrong doing coach HOKE will take the appropriate action. your post just reinforces my point, let the court system sort this out. it may be a lot to do about something or it may be much to do about nothing. . . GO BLUE!!!!!!

He'll stay, this is not a repeat drunk driving/intoxification issue (Darryl Stonum)...hoping Jerald Robinson's case is not any more than meets the eye.

observer. . . if you read the article the court document's were sent to his canton ohio address. . . once he got the document's he contacted the court and his warrant was dropped. i never said it excuses everything, he will still have to follow this thru the court system and depending on how that turn's out the coach's will take the appropriate action. untill then it is much to do about nothing!! your not a MICHIGAN fan. . . right? GO BLUE!!!!!!
