Men break into Ypsilanti High School looking for laptops

By Kyle Feldscher

Three men broke a window to enter Ypsilanti High School early Saturday morning and two of them searched classrooms for laptops, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies reported the men broke into the school, 2095 Packard Road, at 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Two of them entered the school through the window and checked classrooms, supposedly looking for laptops, deputies reported.

No items were reported stolen and the men left the building on foot, according to deputies. Deputies were able to review security camera footage of the incident, but no clear shots of the suspects were available.

There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is on going. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office at 734-973-7711.

To bad they didn't stay longer when they there the first time. Might have helped with career choices.

How do they determine they were looking for laptops? Are there supposed to be laptops in classrooms during the summer? If no property was reported stolen, that does not mean items have not been stolen they just have not been noted as missing. Why aren't class room doors locked?

I'm guessing they are for monitoring students during the day...maybe additional lighting is needed.
