Men brandishing knife and stick rob Ypsilanti business
Two men armed with a knife and a wooden stick robbed an Ypsilanti business Tuesday night, then fled on foot, police said.
Employees told police the two entered the business in the 2100 block of Washtenaw Avenue about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday with their faces covered and brandishing the weapons. They took cash from the business’s safe and registers, and then fled after ordering employees to the floor.
Police used a dog to try to track the suspects but could not find them.
No one was injured. Police continue to investigate.
Ypsilanti Police Sgt. Thomas Eberts declined to release the name of the business.
The alleged robbers were described as white men in their 20s about 5 feet 9 inches tall with medium builds. They were wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgt. Thomas Eberts at 734-482-9878 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
