Man walks into house, flees with purse after homeowner confronts him
A man walked into to a Pittsfield Township home early Tuesday morning and swiped a purse, then fled after the homeowner confronted him, Pittsfield Township Police said.
The owner of the home in the 2300 block of Spring Ridge Drive in the Arbor Creek subdivision, heard noises coming from the main floor of the home about 6 a.m. and went to investigate, police said in a news release. The homeowner encountered the man on the first floor and he ran. Police used a dog to try to track him but could not find him.
Police believe he entered the house through an open garage door and an unlocked door to the house.
The suspect is described as a 20-year-old white man. He is short with an average build and was wearing a plaid baseball hat with a flat bill and long tan shorts.
Pittsfield Township police are continuing to investigate.

Thank Goodness we don't have these kinds of crime in Ann Arbor! Must be our strict enforce laws and our "Tough on Crime" attitude and plentiful police presence!

Thankfully the perp chose flight over fight. Bet the homeowner will be religiously checking the locks before turning in from now on!
