Man reports being robbed at gunpoint in Ann Arbor alley
A 59-year-old man told police that an acquaintance pulled a gun on him and took his money in an Ann Arbor alley Tuesday night.
At 9:26 p.m., police were called to an alleyway in the 200 block of West Liberty Street, where the man told officers that a 30-year-old Ann Arbor man who is known to him robbed him at gunpoint, said Lt. Renee Bush.
The 59-year-old man told police he was walking in the alley when the suspect came up from behind him, stopped him and pulled what the man believed was a gun from his waistband, according to police.
“He told the victim to give him his money,” Bush said.
The 59-year-old handed over a small amount of cash and coins, and the suspect fled.
Police are looking for the suspect for questioning. He was described as a tall, thin black man around 30 years old with an Afro hair style. He was clean shaven, 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighed about 165 pounds. He was wearing a baseball cap and dark sweatshirt.
The incident remains under investigation.

Surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. 24/7, you can see men & youths in those downtown allies. Never see a police patrol, never. OTH: to be fair, you can also see locals using the allies as short cuts all the time. I do it myself sometimes, only I'm the one with a gun and open eyes.
