Man pulls knife on University of Michigan student, attempts to rob him
A man pulled a knife on a University of Michigan student early this morning at a bus stop near the Intramural Sports Building and attempted to rob him, a university police crime alert said.
The student was sitting at the bus stop in the 600 block of East Hoover Avenue about 1 a.m. when a man approached and demanded money, the alert said.
When the student refused to hand any over, police said the man took out a pocket knife. The student fled the area and reported the incident about 30 minutes later.
The man with the knife was described as white; 20 to 22 years of age; 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall; with a muscular build and short blondish-red hair, the alert said. He was clean shaven and was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts.
