Man hospitalized after fight at Ann Arbor nightclub
A 22-year-old Ann Arbor man had to be hospitalized Sunday morning after he was beat up during a fight at a nightclub.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the 22-year-old man bumped into another man on the dance floor at Necto, 516 E. Liberty St. The two men pushed each other before separating.
About 15 minutes after that initial encounter, the 22-year-old man was approached by the man he had bumped, who then punched him in the face, Bush said. The 22-year-old fell back and the man punched him a few more times.
Bouncers and patrol officers broke up the fight at 1:11 a.m. Sunday, according to Bush. The man suffered abrasions and lacerations to his face and a swollen right eye. He had to be transported to the University of Michigan Hospital for treatment.
The suspect in the assault fled the area on foot. The man was described as white, approximately 21 years old, 5-feet-5 inches tall, 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
