Man hospitalized after stabbing in Ann Arbor

By John Counts

A 29-year-old Ann Arbor man was taken to the hospital and a 36-year-old man who lives near him was arrested after a stabbing Thursday night, police said.

Police are still investigating what started the fight.

"It will reveal itself," said Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush.

The man who was arrested lives in an apartment building near the victim in the 1300 block of Wisteria Drive, where the assault occurred around 8:30 p.m., Bush said.

The two men started fighting outside their apartment buildings, then the fight moved momentarily into one of the buildings before coming back outside again, Bush said.

When the fight had ended, the 29-year-old realized he had been stabbed in the abdomen and leg.

"It was some sharp object," Bush said, though police are still investigating just what kind go weapon was used.

The 28-year-old was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital for treatment. Officers arrested the 36-year-old and took him to the Washtenaw County Jail. He could be charged with felonious assault pending the investigation, which is being conducted by Ann Arbor police detectives.

Agreed, this was probably a fight about drugs or what color to paint the bathroom. I prefer white.

Before the "sharp object" came into play, these two were "fighting" over something very, very important - but we don't know what. Relying on Ann Arbor dot com, we can be sure the "fight" included the use of fists before one man was cut/stabbed. It will be interesting to learn what matter of titanic importance sparked this battle. All we know now is that violent conflicts are justified by things of major importance to the country or perhaps humanity as a whole. Perhaps one party was attempting to invade our country and the other fought to stop the invasion. Stuff like that can really get people riled up. ;-)

Time to ban sharp objects, they can be used as weapons. On a serious note, Hope the victim has full recovery.
