Man featured on 'Hoarders' was convicted of 1981 attempted sex assault on EMU student
A Florida man featured on the reality TV show "Hoarders" is actually a registered sex offender who was convicted in 1981 of an attempted sexual assault of an 18-year-old Eastern Michigan University student, the website The Smoking Gun reports.
The show on the A&E TV network portrayed Sisson, now called Patrick Donovan Flanagan O’Shannahan, as an eccentric doll collector.
The article says Sisson tried to rape the student after treating her and some friends to an expensive dinner and then giving her a ride. He also has a felony assault conviction for throwing a 72-year-old woman to the ground, the article said.

"this is the kind of crap that should be banned from tv along with ALL reality shows".... wow! all reality shows should be "banned from TV"! And who should be the judge of what's "banned"? Maybe Iran or North Korea would go along with that.

This story is good, as far as it goes, in that I have come to depend on annarbor.com to keep me alerted about the ongoing misdeeds of those who wantonly violated the law a generation ago and who now live 2,000 miles away. But, it does not go far enough. I have been educated on the annarbor.com website to know there are three major red flags we can use to identify likely felons even before they begin their ruthless reigns of terror. I want to know if this man fits the profile: Is he homeless and collecting SSI benefits while being a card-carrying medical marijuana recipient? Until I know these things, I can make no informed decision about how much peril his continued existence on the planet presents to my family and me.

I saw this episode and my first thought about him was he was the stereo-typical closet gay who was sexually abused as a child (at the orphanage, which he said he was raised in). I felt sorry for him until he said dolls reminded him of his neighbors daughter (creepy man next door), I mean if he said his dead lil sister maybe that would be less creepy, then when he got mean you could tell he was a mean leprechaun inside that could boil over and go postal. Other than that this show is a train-wreck I can't stop watching. It is good motivation for me to clean something or throw something away.

This story was broken by Anita Wirawan http://beginning.anitawirawan.com/2010/10/the-sir-patrick-blogs-and-info-pages.html It is far more complex than stated here. It should also be noted that The Smoking Gun has acknowledged Anita in a subsequent story today.

I saw this episode and kept saying to myself that he was clearly mentally ill, a narcissist and most likely a pedophile or sociopath. I am not surprised by this revelation at all, although I am surprised that his sex assault victim was an adult (albeit only 18) and a female. He drives around with a victorian doll in the front seat of his car for goodness sake!
