Man comes home to stranger passed out on his couch
A 21-year-old Ann Arbor man came home early Sunday morning and found a surprising sight : A man he didn’t know was fast asleep on his couch.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the man called police at 4:33 a.m. Sunday and said there was a man in his apartment in the 300 block of Thompson Street. The man was passed out on the couch and had entered through an unlocked door, Bush said.
The 21-year-old intruder was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital’s emergency room for treatment.
Bush said the man was reported to be trespassing and it’s unclear if criminal charges will be brought against him at this point.

"entered through an unlocked door" These unlocked doors seem to be an invitation to *come on in* and help yourself. Help yourself to food in the fridge, booze in the freezer, sleep on the couch or in the closet, and feel free to take a tv or laptop as a lovely parting gift on your way out the back door.

Wouldn't it be great if the tenant "victim," assuming the drunk has No Criminal Record, simply told the police that he (tenant) wanted to "Pay It Forward" and not seek criminal charges against the dude? It is well known that Pros Aty Mackie loves to felony criminalize people. He never met a Ham Sandwich he didn't want to put in jail/prison. Just saying . . .
