Man arrested for stealing a moped from Ypsilanti parking lot
A 25-year-old man was arrested for stealing a moped from the parking lot of an Ypsilanti business Wednesday, according to police.
Around 11:30 a.m., the suspect cut the lock off the moped, which was parked in the lot of a business located in the 800 block of West Michigan Avenue.
The suspect was later identified and arrested in Belleville, according to Ypsilanti police.
The moped was recovered.
The 25-year-old is currently lodged in the Washtenaw County Jail.

We can only hope this is an isolated incident and not an initiation rite in one of the area's mushrooming outlaw moped gangs.
